Universities across Europe are under increasing pressure to prove the real-world value of a degree, and as international officers, we play a crucial role in that equation. How do we ensure that exchange programs and traineeships truly prepare students for the modern workforce?

Under the theme “from Erasmus+ to Employment”, we will examine the direct role of international mobility in preparing students for the future job market.

What to Expect

• The program combines time on campus with a visit to a local innovation ecosystem;
• See how Tallinn University runs its interdisciplinary student projects (LIFE);
• Join interactive discussions with fellow international staff.

In addition, participants enjoy a small festive workshop to catch the December atmosphere in Estonia.

The Staff Week "Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and International Academic Cooperation — Learning and growing skills for tomorrow"  brings together academic staff from our partner universities for a week of teaching, research and institutional dialogue.

The programme includes: 

• Tuesday, 3 November — Welcome Day: 
  • Official opening ceremony, presentations of the participating universities (institutional profiles, international activities and Erasmus+ opportunities), campus tour and welcome dinner.
• Wednesday, 4 November — Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education and Scientific Research:
  • Hosted at the Institute of National Economy of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest by Prof. PhD Valentina Vasile, Director, and PhD Marius Surugiu, Scientific Director.
  • Topics include AI-supported teaching and learning, generative AI in higher education, the digital transformation of universities, and AI tools for research and academic writing.
  •  Visit to the Museum of the National Bank of Romania or the Palace of the Parliament.
• Thursday–Friday, 5–6 November, International Conference CIDE 2026:
  
  • Keynote speeches, scientific and parallel sessions, international project presentations, and a roundtable on European cooperation and Erasmus+. 
• Saturday–Sunday, 7–8 November — Cultural and Networking Days: 
  • Romanian cultural heritage experience and networking among partner universities.
• Monday, 9 November — Closing Day: 
  • Feedback session, award of Certificates of Participation and closing ceremony.

The programme will focus on the training, professional development and networking of staff managing Erasmus+ KA131 and KA171 projects, with particular attention to effective communication with students and staff through digital tools. The main target group of the STT week is international office staff dealing with student and staff mobilities.

Across Europe and beyond, Erasmus+ international officers use different approaches to informing, motivating and supporting students and staff throughout the mobility process, from promotion and preparation to their return and reintegration. Digital tools offer new opportunities to communicate more effectively, provide timely support and strengthen engagement with the Erasmus+ community.

Under the theme "Digital Bridges: Communicating with Students in Erasmus+ in the Age of Digital Tools," the programme will promote the exchange of best practices and practical experiences in using digital tools throughout the mobility cycle. Participants will explore approaches to promoting mobilities, communicating with participants before and during their stay, and supporting their reintegration after returning, while strengthening professional networking and cooperation among international office staff.

Mobilidade física: 17 a 21 de maio de 2027

The event will combin the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the field of academic libraries with sustainable mobility, using electric bicycles as a means of transport.

The programme includes visits to libraries and archives at the University of Valladolid and other organisations, both on the Valladolid and Segovia campuses. The journey between the two campuses will be made by bicycle, following the Greenway route.

Participation Requirements

 Participants should have a reasonable level of physical fitness and be comfortable cycling, in order to keep up with the pace of the planned activities. Although electric bicycles will be provided, a minimum level of cycling ability and physical preparation is required.

Registration Fee

The registration fee is €550 (subject to change) and includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, bicycles on the days they are required, and a range of cultural and tourist activities. Dinner is not included.
